Proud Professor: student film project gets funded

One of the first stu­dent grad­u­a­tion film projects I tutor in my new role as film & tv pro­fes­sor has been award­ed with a pro­duc­tion fund! Con­grat­u­la­tions and thank you Film und Medi­en­s­tiftung NRW!

His son’s death has thrown Frieder off course. His spends his days in inac­ces­si­ble soli­tude and with endess bot­tles of red wine. His last remain­ing friend is a fish in lake of Lagke Mag­giore. But after even the fish dis­ap­pears, Frieder sets out to write let­ters to his son, expe­ri­ence a mir­a­cle and final­ly find his peace. The screen­play for the 20min film was wirt­ten by direc­tor Mats Willems who com­pletes his bach­e­lor stud­ies at the cologne cam­pus of Macro­me­dia Uni­ver­si­ty of Applied Sci­ences, as well as the film’s pro­duc­ers Calvin Cas­tenow and Moritz Bas­t­ian.
